Our Story

Ideas to visuals since 2008

Icefall Productions is an award-winning film production company based in Kathmandu, Nepal, founded by filmmaker Ram Krishna Pokharel in 2008. We create compelling films that showcase authentic Nepali stories to local and international audiences. Our films have been invited to top festivals, including Berlinale, Venice, Busan, Karlovy Vary, Rotterdam, Palm Springs and more. We received an Emmy Award for A Mountain to Cimb. Our production Butterfly on a Windowpane (2022) and Halkara (2023) also represented Nepal in international feature category for the Oscar Awards.

We also offer professional film production services in Nepal. We have worked on many international feature films, documentaries, TV commercials, brand films, travel shows, reality shows, and series for filming in Nepal. We provide full support, including locations scouting, permits, visas, logistics, cast and crew management, travel and accommodation, and customs clearance. Whether filming in the Himalayas or Nepal’s cultural and natural landscapes, we ensure a seamless production experience for filming in Nepal.
